Legacy has no screen for these: they live in the server environment. The host, port and username are shown only as set or not set; the password is never shown.

Outgoing mail is configured. Phase 1 never connects to the mail server.

Legacy sends one message to the reply-to address and reports success or the raw error text, which can include the server name and user. There is no rate limit. A rebuilt version should throttle the test and show a safe message.
